Loui Kuhlau Fjellander obtained his Bachelor in Fine Arts degree at Konstfack, the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm (2012) and an MFA at Malmö Art Academy at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts, Lund University (2015). Since then he has explored sculptural concepts and forms often combining them with performance which often unfold as installations. These address questions regarding the transcendence of the body, organic matter, origin, transcience and cosmogony. He has received numerous grants for his artistic ability such as the Ettårigt arbetsstipendium (Konstnärsnämnden), BA project of the year at Konstfack, the Rudmars Fond grant at the Royal Academy of Art in Stockholm as well as the studio and Aase & Richard Björklunds Fond grants administered by city of Malmö. Loui lives and works in Malmö and is a father of three.
